When you arrive at the airport you have to get a pass for their water taxis. You have to take one of these to go anywhere. Lido (where we stayed) was the last stop and took about 50 minutes to get to. It wasn't that far but there were about 20 stops in between. It was a beautiful drive looking at all the homes and churches along the water. On my birthday we climbed on one of these around 8:00AM and headed to St. Marks which is the heart of Venice.
