Tonight's Dinner



We made a great dinner tonight with all fresh, local, organic ingredients. We had pasta with sausage and salad. There is a local award winning butcher where we bought a mild Italian sausage and I sauteed them with red and green peppers and onions. For the pasta I made a ragout with tomatoes, basil, onion, shallots, garlic, red peppers, green peppers and plum tomatoes. I used some truffle and olive oil and reduced it down to a thick sauce. We topped it with some Parmesan cheese that we bought in Venice and grated it fresh. We made a salad with greens, roma tomatoes onion and cilantro. Bryan made a balsamic/olive oil dressing that was off the hook. I seriously told him he should bottle it and sell it. And of course we topped the salad with the Parmesan cheese.
